The Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School Girls Varsity Soccer team made Holy Cross history at OFSAA (the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations in Canada) by bringing home the gold medal!

The girls played 7 games total, each with their own unique challenges. However, our team persevered and showed resilience throughout. They worked together and demonstrated tremendous skill and teamwork throughout the 3 days.

The gold medal game ended with Ashley Amarelo scoring in the last minute to tie it up leading the team to double overtime and winning in a nail-biting penalty shootout whose shots were no match for our goalkeeper Riann Lilbourne who made the game winning save.

Senior player Jorja Lilbourne also ended the tournament as the top OFSAA goal scorer with 11 goals total and Aleah Madeira rounding out the top 5!
