The Komoka Railway Museum is excited to announce its 40th anniversary, marking 40 years of preserving and sharing local railway history. To celebrate this milestone, the museum will host a special commemoration event on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its site in Komoka, Middlesex County.
The celebration will include giveaway draws, birthday cake, special railroad-related displays, and a fundraising event.
The Komoka Railway Museum also has plans to expand its collection and display space dedicated to the local history and heritage of Komoka. As part of this initiative, the museum is looking to secure the donation of two heritage structures: a rare 1910 Grand Trunk Railway/Canadian National wooden boxcar and a maintenance outbuilding that was originally part of the historic Komoka Station.
The museum is currently seeking support to help achieve the following fundraising goals: relocating the historic wooden boxcar to Komoka ($11,500), completing the ground and site work required to repatriate the former Komoka rail sheds ($15,000), and replacing the deck and walkways ($20,000).
Those who wish to support these preservation efforts can contribute through online or in-person donations. Visitors are also encouraged to explore the museum grounds and learn more about the fundraising campaign during the anniversary celebration.
Donations can be made through the following fundraising pages:

The Komoka Railway Museum thanks the community for its continued support and looks forward to welcoming everyone to the celebration on July 4, 2026.
